Face Paints

Face paints can be great fun for kids and adults alike. If you are looking for face painting kits you can buy online at SillyJokes or if you require an artist to book for a party, take a look at the face paint artists listed here. They represent some of the most talented face paint artists in the UK.

When organising a face painting event:

  • Think carefully about the price.
Don't work too cheaply, if you do you will have an endless queue of kids with little time to draw breath nevermind faces! Aim to paint around 10 faces an hour - you will get much quicker with practice!
  • Try to work with someone else.
You can't paint as well as collect money, eat lunch, and organise the kids!
  • Smile at all times and be friendly with the children AND their parents.
  • Buy the best paints you can afford.
Cheap paints are a false economy (less coverage) and could lead to allergic reactions. Stick with water based paints that wash off easily with mild soap and water or wet wipes. We recommend Snazaroo paints which fully comply with the the American FDA requirements for cosmetics.
  • Save time.
Try to organise the kids so they are ready to choose the design (from your posters) before they sit down.
  • Have everything to hand.
You will need plenty of water, tissues, brushes and a mirror. Try to sit comfortably whilst painting.

Remember that your work will be your advertisment. Try to start (perhaps with a freebie) with a design that you do well and the child will do your marketing for you!
